Ladan Safvati is a licensed marriage and Family Therapist and Registered Art Therapist in private practice working with individuals, couples, children, families and groups to overcome life challenges. She uses different psychological theories and therapeutic techniques based on each client’s personal needs. She combines talk therapy with art therapy, particularly to access painful feelings and experiences that are less accessible through talk therapy alone and promote deeper understanding of issues and much faster healing. Ladan has helped many of her clients overcome or manage their anxiety, depression and other emotional issues, improve their relationships, often by helping them with emotion regulation and anger management, while encouraging them to discover personal strengths, improve self- esteem and achieve personal growth.
Trained at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, Department of Child Psychiatry, Ladan Safvati worked with many children and adolescents, using art therapy, helping them express themselves, build on their self-esteem and use their strengths to face challenges in difficult circumstances such as parents’ divorce, school problems, academic and peer issues. With her deep understanding and emphatic approach, Ladan Safvati has helped many parents of children with various disorders such as ADHD, Asperger, autism, attachment disorders, anxiety, and other emotional and behavioral problems to improve their parenting skills and better deal with their children’s challenging situation. Ladan Safvati is also an art therapy group facilitator at My New Life, an outpatient addiction recovery program and women’s self-improvement group at her private practice.
